The Huntington Beach Coordinating Council supports the charitable activities of organizations within the city that provide services for those in need.

 

What We Do

The council meets monthly to coordinate plans for activities slated for the City of Huntington Beach.  Volunteer needs are discussed.  Arrangements are made for mutual support of planned activities.

Strategies for 2009-2010

  1. Foster networking, mentoring and leadership training in a proactive way.
  2. Make an annual presentation to the City Council.
  3. Encourage attendance at each other’s events.
  4. Learn about additional volunteer opportunities.
  5. Create a project that most member organizations could participate in (which would become a community-recognized signature event for the Huntington Beach Coordinating Council.)
  6. Offer mentoring/leadership training to member organizations.
  7. Feature a different organization at each regular meeting.
  8. Encourage new leadership within member organizations.
  9. Schedule events on an annual time line to gain better coordination. 
  10. Establish “Best Practices” for communicating community events.
  11. Make sure residents of the city know about the many services available through the Huntington Beach Coordinating Council.
